Frank (Bruce Willis) is retired, bored and lonely living off his government pension in a nondescript suburban house in an equally nondescript. The only joy in Frank's life his calls to pension processing center when his government to talk to worker Sarah (Mary-Louis Parker). Sarah is as bored and lonely as Frank and marks her conversations with Frank and knew his spy novels as the only joy in her life. When something in Frank's power over Frank back to the old line of his work and put a Sarah accidentally in the middle of the plot, Frank and Sarah begin a journey into Frank's past and the people he used to work with.
